The Commissioners of Juba and Terekeka Counties visited Luri and Kworjik villages in Central Equatoria State where clashes erupted between members of the Mundari and Bari tribes over the last two weeks.
At least 10 people from Bari were killed and a Mundari man wounded in clashes that also killed an SPLA soldier. Bari community leaders blamed the fighting on cattle herders from neighboring Terekeka County.
Mundari chief Alphonse Modi told Radio Tamazuj that the Central Equatorial State government has formed a committee to investigate the incident. He blamed the incident on fellow coethnics saying they will pay blood money and bring the perpetrators to book.
Modi urged the Bari community to allow the law takes its course. He called upon the native administration from the two communities to calm the situation and live together as brothers and sisters.
