Ceasefire board delays meeting in Juba until next week

The Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring Mechanism (CTSAMM) has delayed its board meeting scheduled for tomorrow until 16 March.

CTSAMM did not give any reason for the change. The meeting will be closed to media except for the opening remarks by the CTSAMM chairman at 10 am and a statement by the CTSAMM spokesperson after the meeting.

The ceasefire body is responsible for monitoring ceasefore violations and reporting them to the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC).

Representatives of both SPLA and SPLA-IO sit on the CTSAMM board plus representatives of women's bloc, youth, CSOs, the East African bloc IGAD, Troika, UNMISS and other stakeholders.

CTSAMM is currently chaired by Major General Molla Hailemariam of Ethiopia. It last met on 9 February.
