Cattle trader killed in Mayom County

A 48-year-old man, Gai Nhial, was killed in a revenge attack in Unity State’s Mayom County on Tuesday afternoon while taking cattle for sale to Ajakkuach Market in Warrap State.

This is the first incident of revenge killing in five months after the appointment of Unity State Governor Riek Bim.

Bridger General Joseph Zoal, the police chief in Mayom County, confirmed the murder of the businessman between Mayom County and Ajakkuach Payam in Warrap State and said it was linked to revenge.

“The people who planned to revenge got information that the deceased was traveling to Warrap State and they attacked and killed him,” he stated. “Those who were involved in the killing of the businessman were identified but were not arrested because the incident happened in the forest where there were no policemen. We directed the security personnel to arrest those who were involved in the murder.”
