At least one person was killed and another injured in Twic state after unidentified hustlers mounted raids to steal cattle from Majok Noon village in Ajak Kuac County on Sunday, a source said.

The source, who preferred not to be named, told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that the raiders attacked a cattle camp in the village, killing one person on the spot and wounding another.

He further said the cattle raiders took more than five hundred heads of cattle before the locals and policemen could return back the cattle, adding that three cows were killed during clashes with the attackers.

Clashes over water, livestock, and pastureland have long plagued South Sudan's remote, particularly during dry months.
