At least one person was killed in Twic East County of Jonglei state due to a cattle raid, a local official told Radio Tamazuj.
Dau Akoi Jurkuc, Twic East Commissioner told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that the individual was killed at the Kongborong grazing area while looking after his cattle.
“No one could really judge the raiders that killed him,” Jurkuc said. He added that no cattle was taken and no person was injured during the clashes.
Earlier this month, the governors of Jonglei and Boma state met at Gumuruk county and agreed to conduct a peace conference in Jonglei State in September 2016.
