Cattle raid in Twic East County; no casualties

Unknown gunmen carried out a cattle raid in Twic East County of Jonglei State but failed to keep the cattle that they took, according to a local official.

The gunmen attacked Baping village in Makuach Payam and took off with 30 head of cattle. Citing the County Commissioner Dau Akoi Jurukuch, Radio Miraya reported that the cattle were later recovered. 

“The unknown gunmen, they came and raided the cattle in the village called Baping. Baping is one of the villages of Makuach Payam in Twic East County. The number of cattle that were raided was 30 and nobody was reported injured or dead,” said Dau.

This comes just days after another raid in neighboring Bor County that reportedly left two people dead.
