Catholic priest calls for peace between tribes in Wau

A catholic priest from diocese of Rumbek, Father Marko Kuol, has to different tribes in Wau to live as brothers and sisters and look ahead for the future of their children.

"Look at what is going on in Wau where people see themselves as Jur Col, Falata, and Dinka, and hate each other," he said during Sunday prayers in Kuacjok Catholic Church in Warrap state. "This is not good becasue we are endangering the future of our children."

Father Marko called on church leaders, community leaders, and government officials to help reconcile and preach peace to communities in Wau.

Violence around Wau in recent months has left many citizens dead while resulting in destruction of villages and displacement of citizens.
