Campaign to raise HIV awareness among young people in Aweil

A new campaign aims to promote information on HIV/AIDS among young people in South Sudan’s Aweil State kicked off on Monday.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj during the launching ceremony at Comboni Secondary School in Aweil town, several students said the campaign educated them on sexual health and HIV/AIDS.

Suzan Piol, a student at Comboni School, said it is the government’s role to disseminate information on the disease among young people in the state.

Another student, James Aluk said they received the right information on HIV through the campaign launched by health authorities.

For his part, the director of HIV/AIDS in Northern Bahr al Ghazal, Kuol Mabior said they launched the campaign on HIV because youth people are at higher risk of HIV infection.
