The Sennar State Ministry of Health in Sudan has launched a campaign to reduce malaria through targeted insecticide spraying across the state.

The campaign is scheduled to help more than 1.3 million people living in 245,000 households. The 25 million pound effort is set to end on 28 November.

National Minister of Health Hamoda Tuto told the Sudanese News Agency that the government has plans to run two campaigns each year to reduce malaria in the area.

He called on state governments to appoint enough labourers for sustainable service.
