The cabinet of Central Equatoria State approved a draft budget of 5 Billion South Sudanese Pounds for the 2021/22 financial year, the state’s information minister revealed.

The cabinet of Central Equatoria State approved a draft budget of 5 Billion South Sudanese Pounds for the 2021/22 financial year, the state’s information minister revealed.

Minister Androga Mabi Spirio told Radio Tamazuj Thursday that the state finance minister, Wani Tom Sebit presented the budget.

“Today (Thursday) the council deliberated and approved the draft budget under the leadership of Governor Emmanuel Adil. The draft budget presented by the finance minister Wani Tom was to the tune of SSP 5, 180, 147, 420,” Minster Androga said.

He added that the budget aims at improving security within the state to mitigate conflict between pastoralists and farmers.

“The budget is directed to meet key areas in the state like improvement of security in the urban and rural areas and the acceleration of the implementation of the peace agreement,” Minister Androga said. “To engage holdout groups, to mitigate conflict between farmers and pastoralists, and to improve border relations and social cohesion between the communities both inside and outside the country.
