Bright Stars to face Mauritania at Juba Stadium this afternoon

South Sudanese and Mauritanian national football teams each held their last training sessions on Tuesday ahead of their World Cup Qualifier Match today, Wednesday.

Bright Stars achieved their first competitive win on 5 September, beating Equatorial Guinea 1-0 in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

“We are ready, totally ready. We know what we have to do and we can spring a surprise,” said South Sudan captain Richard Justin Lado, as quoted by football association FIFA on its website.

Richard added, “Our coach Sung-Jea Lee has created a style of play that's based on defensive discipline and counter-attacking football, and I think we can cause some damage. We need to win, for many reasons, and we will win.”

The match will be aired live on Eye Radio starting with commentary from 4:00 p.m. Eye Radio is available on 98.6 FM in Juba, 98.8FM in Torit, 88.6FM in Aweil and Wau, and 89.0FM (Yambio)
