UN peacekeepers intervened with teargas to break up the fighting but it continued, according to a source in the camp.

By dusk yesterday, numbers of eastern Nuer had been pushed out of the camp with western Nuer remaining in control of the camp. As of midnight on Saturday the fighting had stopped but the camp was still tense.

At least one person is confirmed dead and dozens were wounded, according to the same source. Even some of the people who joined in the fighting said they didn’t know why it had begun.
