Residents of Torit town in Eastern Equatoria State on Monday woke up to the rude shock of a 17-year-old boy who had hanged himself in a forest.

The incident occurred in the Ibalany residential area of Torit town.

State Police Spokesman Justin Kleopus Takuru told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that John Ochan Marko, the father of 17-year-old Marko Odong, had filed a complaint that his sick son went missing.

“A police team went and found Marko dead. He is called Marko Odong,” he said.

The police officer revealed that a post-mortem carried out at the hospital showed the deceased died by committing suicide.

He urged the public to share problems that could lead to suicide.
