Bor county commissioner Agot Elijah downplayed the impact of heavy rain falls and floods that hit the county recently.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, commissioner Agot admitted that the rains have affected local citizens, but he described the affect as “minor.”
He criticized media outlets for exaggerating damage caused by rains and flooding.
Agot pointed out that Bor citizens are used to heavy rains, while denying any displacement caused by the rains.
He asserted that local authorities in collaboration with humanitarian organizations have been exerting efforts to mitigate the effects caused by the rains.
