The Sudanese Air Force reportedly bombed Bangaro and Aura villages south of Kurmuk Locality in Blue Nile state, destroying farmlands and water sources.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Friday, SPLA-N member Sadiq Ali Ibrahim said that an Antonov aircraft dropped two bombs on Bangaro village and another four bombs on Aura village in Yabus Locality.

He said the bombing damaged water sources and burned farms.

“About five mango trees belonging to one of the local citizens were also destroyed in Aura area,” he said.

Radio Tamazuj could not reach the Sudanese army in the area to comment on the claims.

Rise in hepatitis cases

Separately, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced in its latest report on Thursday that about 7000 people have been infected by hepatitis in Blue Nile and South Kordofan states .

The UN agency says about 350 cases have also been recorded so far in South Darfur, while others are still uncovered by health services.
