Boma State governor orders commissioner to relocate

The Boma State governor has ordered the Commissioner of Pochalla North Ogebe Omot to leave Pochalla for Otalo for the time being. This came out as a result of a meeting which brought together intellectuals of Pochalla North and South in Juba this week.

The Boma State governor has ordered the Commissioner of Pochalla North Ogebe Omot to leave Pochalla for Otalo for the time being. This came out as a result of a meeting which brought together intellectuals of Pochalla North and South in Juba this week.

The Sunday meeting recommended that an investigation committee be formed to probe causes of conflict in Pochalla area last year. The meeting discussed the necessity of unity among political leaders of Pochalla to promote peace and security in the area.

In addition, the meeting looked into challenges that obstruct the development activities to reach the ordinary citizens. The meeting also agreed that citizens from Pochalla North be given chances to work with NGOs within Pochalla town until some NGO establish bases in Pochalla North.

The meeting also called for the immediate release of political detainees of Pochalla South jailed in Military Intelligence detention for months. The move is seen as a step toward peace and reconciliation.
