Operations of all commercial motorcycles, locally known as boda-boda, resumed in Jonglei State last Tuesday after a week-long suspension.

Police authorities had suspended operations of boda-boda, after a foreign motorcycle operator was attacked in Bor town.

Speaking to reporters in Bor, the town mayor, Mach Martin Majier said the suspension was lifted after boda-boda operators agreed to comply with municipality guidelines.

“From today onwards, registration will go on. National boda-boda association will register, verify and issue IDs for those who will meet the requirements,” he said.

Majier further said those who fail to meet the requirements will not be allowed to operate.

He warned of any form of violence against foreign motorcycle operators in the state.
