Blue Nile’s Yabus sees damage to farms

Heavy rains have destroyed farms in the Yabus region in southern Blue Nile under the control of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (North).

Reports suggest that the area in the south of Kurmuk County experienced heavy rains last week which led to the destruction of many farms in the region.

Tayeb Yousif, a resident of Yabous, stated that farms lying on the eastern and western sides of the city of Yabous were severely affected by the rains which destroyed a large number of farms belonging to Yabous residents in the villages of Mogaf, Blamon, and Aus.

Yousif also added that there was a high rate of malaria infections and malnutrition amid the elderly, children and pregnant women. He added that the complete absence of medications has forced the citizens to depend on herbs and leaves of trees for treatment.
