The Blue Nile Centre for Human Rights and Peace (BNCHR) has warned against impending air raids on civilians by the Sudanese government.
In a press statement over the weekend, the centre confirmed that it has spotted movement of government troops allegedly planning to start a new wave of violence against civilians in an attempt to invade Blue Nile areas under SPLA-N control.
“There are confirmed reports of an extensive military build-up at Dandro area, about 65 kilometres north of Damazin town,” reads part of the statement.
These reports suggested that those forces are composed of militias from Blue Nile and other armed groups from a neighbouring country, according to the centre.
The same report added that there were other forces that moved on 9 October from Buth area along the Blue Nile-South Sudan borders.
