Blue Nile students at Tango refugee camp in Ethiopia are reportedly facing difficulties learning the Ethiopian curriculum due to the absence of the Sudanese syllabus.
Ibrahim Ali Ibrahim, a teacher at the Education Institute in the camp, told Radio Tamazuj that the performance of the Blue Nile students has declined dramatically. He added that this year’s pass rate was very low.
The Sudanese teacher further complained about shortages of trained Ethiopian teachers at the camp. Ibrahim pointed out that the students have resorted to attend additional courses in order to catch up with the Ethiopian system of education.
