Police in Sudan’s Blue Nile state arrested the minister of Education Ramadan Hussein on Monday after allegedly bouncing cheques.

A legal source who preferred not to be named told Radio Tamazuj that Hussein was arrested after his immunity was lifted following his failure to pay cheques for goods worth 1 million SDG for one of the traders in the area.

The source said this is not the first time for the minister to fail to pay cash to some people but his immunity was preventing legal action.
