The governor of Sudan’s Blue Nile state Hussein Yassin Hamad called on rebels to lay down their weapons and join the peace process in the state.

Addressing a crowd of citizens in Damazin on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, Governor Hussein Yassin said the state is suffering due to the ongoing conflict, while calling on the rebels to respond to calls for peace in the area.

The governor congratulated the people of his state on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.
