Blue Nile citizens decry high prices of food commodities

Citizens in Sudan’s Blue Nile State said the prices of basic food items have dramatically increased.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday, several traders admitted that the prices of basic food commodities have risen.

They said 50kg of sugar which was sold at SDG 800 is now sold at SDG 900 while a Jerican of cooking oil is now SDG 450.

The added that a 10kg bag of flour which cost SDG 75 is now sold at SDG 100 and a 20kg bag rice is now sold at SDG 600 instead of SDG 480.
