The Blue Nile State Legislative Assembly rejected an order by Governor Hussein Yassin Hamad to sell off state lands to investors, credible sources tell Radio Tamazuj.

The land the governor slated for sale is estimated to comprise 50,000 acres including Mahlaj, Damazin town, and territories stretching from Abu Girin village up to Mahata Haroun near Wad El Nil.

The Blue Nile government recently sold land worth 99,000 Euros to a Saudi investor.  That deal prompted the state parliament to reject the governor’s decision, the same sources said.
