Farmers in Al Ferdous locality in Sudan’s East Darfur State have complained about swamps of birds in the area amid fear that this would cause failure of this year’s agricultural season.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, several local residents said that the birds could destroy crops in the area.
For his part, Hamdan Adam Al-Bushra, Al-Ferdous Locality Commissioner, confirmed reports that swamps of birds are threatening this year’s harvest season. He pointed out that they informed the state ministry of agriculture to intervene before the agricultural season fails.
