Bilpam FC beats Ekwa 4-3 in Yambio tournament

Bilpam Yambio football club defeated Ekwa 4-3 in a match at Yambio’s Gbuduwe stadium on Tuesday.

The match was part of the second division martyrs tournament, group B. Eight teams are participating in the tournament in two groups, A and B. Each group has four teams.

Bilpam’s John Kafu scored at the 10 minute mark followed by his teammate Isaac Danima just before the end of the first half.

Ekwa struck back hard in the second half with a penalty at the 56 minute mark scored by Siko Tupac and another goal by Kurunaldo Malton in the 63rd minute, tying the game.

They were unable to take the lead, however, as Isaac Coscos scored one for Bilpam in the 68th minute and Isaac Danima took his second goal in the 78th minute.

Kurunaldo put Ekwa’s third goal into the net – his second of the night – with ten minutes remaining on the clock, but Bilpam was able to hold the score at 4-3 until the end.

Bilpam will play next either Rhino FC or Super Stars FC in the semifinal on 24 July. Meanwhile, Salam FC of group A beat Freedom Boys FC 4-0 on Monday in the opening of the tournament and they will play either Mukongo FC or Ganagara Emeila in the semifinal on 25 July.

Wednesday’s match will be Rhino FC vs Super Star FC at Gbuduwe stadium.
