The governor of South Sudan’s Bieh State Moses Majok Gatluak held a cabinet meeting in Juba on Tuesday to brief his cabinet on the signed ceasefire in Khartoum.

President Salva Kiir and opposition groups have recently signed a permanent ceasefire, raising hopes of a peace agreement to end the ongoing civil war.

Bieh’s Information Minister Nin Tut Kuei told radio Tamazuj that Governor Majok said the signed deal will help bring communities together in order to rebuild their lives.

The information official pointed out that the governor reiterated his government’s commitment to implement the signed ceasefire agreement fully.

Nin further said Governor Majok urged the people of Bieh State and neighboring communities to embrace peace and stability in the region.

The cabinet meeting, according to Nin, resolved to respect the signed permanent ceasefire and allow unhindered humanitarian access.
