Unity State Minister of Information Peter Makuoth Malual said awareness campaigns about the signed compromise peace agreement are on hold owing to lack of money.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Makuoth said dissemination of peace messages was supposed to be carried out by members of the parliament in their constituencies across the state.
He said all their MPs are in still in Juba, while complaining that issue of poor roads is also affecting the program to reach all counties.
“No we have not yet started because our MPs are still in Juba, they are supposed to be there to move to counties,” he said. “This matter needs transports because those areas have no good roads and airstrips, but is a plan, it also needs money.”
However, the official said they are disseminating peace messages to people in local languages via Bentiu FM.
Separately, the information minister said poor roads have also caused shortage and rising prices of essential commodities at the market in Bentiu town.
He pointed out that they transport goods by air, the main mode of transport in the area.
