The government of South Sudan’s Aweil state in collaboration with national government has upgraded Barmayen primary healthcare centre to a county hospital.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday, James Wieu Mayol, Aweil state health minister, said patients in the area will now be treated at the hospital and only special cases will be referred to Aweil Hospital.
Wieu further said the hospital will now be able to cater for a bigger number of patients in Barmayen and surrounding areas.
“Beneficiaries will be many people, will not only citizens of Barmayen. Because Barmayen is located in border between Wau and Aweil states and there is connection between Barmayen to Aweil South big populations,” said Wieu.
