Banned drugs from India seized at Juba Airport

The Pharmaceuticals and Foods Control Authority seized a shipment of counterfeit drugs at Juba International Airport on Wednesday.

The Pharmaceuticals and Foods Control Authority seized a shipment of counterfeit drugs at Juba International Airport on Wednesday.

Pharmaceuticals department head Angelina Juma Chol said in a press statement that the shipment seized Juba Airport came from India, and included fake drugs for weight control and impotence.

Chol revealed that the seized drugs are unregistered with the Ministry of Health and that they are not allowed to enter. She said investigations found that the drugs were on their way to Sudan through Paloich.

The head of the department warned citizens against buying unregistered drugs.
