Armed bandits on Wednesday robbed a group of travelers in Pochalla County in South Sudan’s Boma state, a local official said.

The incident took place between Obodi and Ajeayanga villages, south of Pochalla, where the travellers were stopped at gunpoint.

The Commissioner of Pochalla County, Jay Adingora Alual, said the armed bandits ransacked and looted the travellers’ properties and escaped.

The county official called for deployment of police forces to restore the security situation in his county.

Pochalla is a hard-to-reach area with no good roads linking it to other areas in South Sudan.
