The new caretaker governor of Western Equatoria State, Patrick Raphael Zamoi, has issued a decree sacking the entire cabinet appointed by his predecessor, Joseph Bangasi Bakosoro, and appointing new members. Bakosoro himself was relieved by decree of Salva Kiir last month and spent several days in detention.
In a written order dated 26 September, the new caretaker governos also appointed Bullen Abiataraj Hakim as the deputy governor, replacing Sapana A.Abuyi. Other key officials who have been affected by the new changes include Information Minister Charles Barnaba Kisanga. He has been replaced with Daniel Esbon Zingifuaboro.
Clement Juma Mbugoniwia, minister of physical infrastructure and public utilities, has been replaced with the two new ministers after the ministry was split and restructured into the ministry roads and bridges and ministry of housing, electricity and water.
Several other officials, including advisors and county commissioners, have also been removed.
