Workers attached to bakeries in the town of Wau went on strike on Tuesday demanding a pay rise.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, the striking workers said they want their salaries to be increased from 450 SSP to 1,100 SSP but the owners of bakeries rejected their demands.
Wol Charles Aleu, head of the state chamber of commerce, confirmed the strike saying some workers had demanded a pay rise but the employers could meet their demand.
Charles claimed that their work was not affected by the strike.
