“We are all citizens of Western Equatoria so we have to come and celebrate Christmas here at home. I have been away for five years so I have come to see my house. I did not come for anything but only to celebrate Christmas here in peace and unity. There is no going back to war, anyone who has a problem with me is welcome for peace talks in Rome in Italy,” Bakosoro said.

Meanwhile, the governor of Western Equatoria State, Gen. Alfred Futuyo Karaba, welcomed the minister and assured him of his safety as the state is relatively at peace.

Governor Futuyo said his leadership allowed anyone who wants to return home to come and stay with their family, saying there is no restriction for politicians to visit their state.

“Our minister has arrived as a citizen to celebrate Christmas with us so we will stay with and talk with him since he was out for five years. Last time I told you that in my leadership all the politicians are allowed to come home. It is not the presence of someone which will change your politics, but your behavior. So Hon. Minister, go to your house and stay with your Family,” Futuyo said.
