Dozens of students at the Education College of the University of Bahr el Ghazal in South Sudan have been expelled from dormitories and their examinations results cancelled.
Santon Fabra, a head of the university’s student steering committee, told Radio Tamazuj that a dozen students were recently expelled from dormitories under the pretext that the university was in a holiday.
He further said that examinations results of some students were withheld by the administration for non-payment of tuition fees.
“Most of the students evicted from dormitories hail from Upper Nile region,” he said.
Santon pointed out that they held a meeting with the state government on the matter, where the officials promised to resolve the students’ problems.
