Ayat construction workers demanding unpaid salaries

More than 100 workers from the Ayat Construction Company in Western Bahr El Ghazal state have presented a petition demanding unpaid salaries.

Representing the workers, Emmanuel Mayom, said yesterday the issue has been presented to the labor office and has been forwarded to court.

“Today the workers have entered a strike, this is the third year they have not received their salary. All these time we have spent on empty promises that there is money with the government of South Sudan which will be paid.”

“The number of workers is one hundred and twenty who presented a petition to the labor office and was forwarded to the court accusing the company from Bahr Elghazal sector. The administration in Khartoum issued an order relieving the Director without appointing someone to managed the site.”
