Traffic police in South Sudan’s Aweil State unveiled a new plan for the upcoming Christmas and Yew Year seasons to monitor movements and enforce traffic laws in order to minimize traffic accidents in the state.

Yai Ater Malith, deputy director for Aweil traffic police, told Radio Tamazuj last week that their officers had already been assigned to prevent traffic accidents in the state.

“We have also created awareness on traffic laws. Now our forces are on the streets working to monitor the movement of vehicles during the Christmas and New Year,” he said.

The traffic police officer urged owners of vehicles and motorbikes to respect traffic laws.
