A cross-border peace conference between Dinka Malual and Rizeigat tribes will take place in Aweil town of South Sudan’s Northern Bahr el Ghazal state next week, according to an Aweil official.
Kuol Athuai, the adviser for cross-border relations, told Radio Tamazuj that arrangements are in place for 200 participants from the two sides to meet.
He said the conference aims to follow up on previous agreements signed by the two tribes which regulate grazing and movements of people along the common borders in an effort to avoid differences.
Cattle herders of the Rizeigat tribe of Sudan begin their annual migration into South Sudan in December and January, according to the state official.
