A three-day forum on education kicked off in South Sudan’s Aweil State on Monday with the purpose of improving the education sector in greater Northern Bahr al Ghazal.
The event was attended by National Minister of Education and Instruction Deng Deng and Governor of Aweil State Ronald Ruai Deng.
Speaking at the conference on Monday, Deng Deng Hoc, National Minister of Education and Instruction, said that there are many challenges facing South Sudan, saying that access to school is still a major problem.
Deng revealed that 1.8 million children are out of school across the country, which he said will be addressed if the people of South Sudan work hand in hand with their government.
