Aweil state governor wants to improve services delivery in rural areas within three months

The governor of Aweil state Ronald Ruay Deng has said that his government will prioritize rural development especially in the areas of water installations, construction of roads network, better security and food security in the next three months.

Governor Deng made this statement at Maduany airport last Thursday upon his return from Juba where he attended SPLM national seminar where governors of 28 states were sworn in as SPLM chairpersons in the respective states.

"Now that am back in the state, my government has develop a three months plan with particular focus in the development of our rural areas especially in the fields of water installations, improvement of security, roads construction and sustainable agriculture projects to rescue rural populations from the risk of starvation and isolation," Governor Ruay stressed.

Deng also revealed that while in Juba, he held meetings with several heads of humanitarian agencies including WFP's country director who assured him of their support not only in areas of humanitarian responses but human capacity buildings.

Aweil state is one of the three new states in the defunct Northern Bahr el Ghazal region with high rate of malnutrition cases and food insecurity across South Sudan.
