The Aweil state legislative assembly have been asked to preach peace and interact with their communities during a three month recess that started yesterday.
“There is a need for legislators to educate their communities about the peace deal because some don’t know about it” Deng Ayom, speaker of the assembly, said in an interview with Radio Tamazuj.
The recess began on June 6th, and lasts until September 6th.
Ayom also encouraged citizens of Aweil to participate in farming to avoid food shortages next year.
“If we cultivate food here in the state then there is no need to go to other countries in search of food,” Ayom said
