Aweil police arrest 2 women for murder

Police and local authorities in Aweil West County of Northern Bahr-el-Ghazal State have detained two women for the death of a young woman in Nyinbuoli Payam.

Police and local authorities in Aweil West County of Northern Bahr-el-Ghazal State have detained two women for the death of a young woman in Nyinbuoli Payam.

The deceased, Abuk Bol Akuei, met her fate when she attempted to stop a fight between the two women, Mabok Wol and Anok Deng Jel, who have since been arrested as suspects in the death of the former. She was hit by a stick on the head and died on the spot. 

The Aweil West County police inspector, Maj. Deng Mathon Akot told Radio Tamazul on Tuesday that the two suspects were arrested on the day of the incident, 8 June. 

Maj. Mathon said, “We arrested the suspects on the same day of the incident and the two women are with us now. The arrested women were fighting each other and the deceased came in to separate them and they hit her on the head with a stick and she died immediately.”

Atuer Arol Kuan, the Aweil West County executive director, confirmed that the late Abuk was killed and the accused detained women for her murder.
