Members of the Aweil State Legislative Assembly said that they are waiting for the state cabinet to table a draft constitution for the state, saying they are ready to pass it into law a soon as it is presented to the house.
The state government has recently set up a constitutional review committee comprises of executive representatives, members of parliament, and legal administration.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, Government Chip Whip Aguer Wol Aguer said that the parliament is still waiting for the draft constitution to be tabled by the council of ministers.
“The state council of ministers has made it as a draft, but it was not presented to the state assembly, because some procedures are not completed , so after they finish around 2017, it will be passed into law,” said Aguer.
