Dau Mach Maraj, Minister of Agriculture in South Sudan’s Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, has called on citizens to embark on agriculture in order to bridge a food gap in the state.
Maraj told Radio Tamazuj that they have put in place all the necessary needs for this year’s agriculture season so that the citizens produce food locally.
The official attributed the hunger to the floods that hit the area last year. The state official also called on the citizens to register and open bank accounts in the Agricultural Bank so that they can be given agricultural inputs.
