Lawmakers in South Sudan’s Aweil state legislative assembly on Friday broke off for a three-month recess period.
Speaking during the closing session on Friday, the speaker of the state assembly, Daniel Deng Ayom called on MPs to go and clear their farmers before this year’s rainy season starts.
“Honourable members please go and start to clear your farms, go and prepare cultivation tools because signs of rainfalls are visible. This is the only way to fight hunger in our state,” said Ayom.
The speaker urged the lawmakers to preach peace and reconciliation to their constituencies.
