The Northern Bahr el Ghazal state health minister has ordered the suspension of ministry establishment officer Reech Diing Wol, accusing him of holding negative attitudes toward officials.
Lino Adup Achier ordered the suspension in a letter without enacting a disciplinary commitee which is usually required for a suspension, according to labour and public service regulations. Adup listed five reasons for the suspension.
Reech denied the charges, saying they were “made up,” and accused the minister of working against a certain section in the state.
“There is nothing substantive,” he said of the reasons for his attempted suspension. “It is a fabrication and I don’t recognize the authenticity of the letter. If [the minister] were serious, he would have formed a committee to examine those allegations which I believe are nothing but ill advice from his group whom they don’t like a certain section in our state. That is why he acted on his own without regard to public service regulations.”
Adup’s letter was dated 29 October and meant to come into effect on 11 November. The letter was written by the acting director general at the ministry, Dominic Athian Dut. Dominic wrote in the letter that he was acting on directives given by the minister for compliance.
