The governor of South Sudan’s Aweil state Yournew Wol Kuol has removed finance minister from his position and replaced him with a new official.
According to the gubernatorial orders announced yesterday, Governor Yournew Wol removed Garang Majak Bol from the ministry of finance and replaced him with the head of the state revenue authority, Majok Wek Wol.
In another order, the governor removed Aweil town mayor Simon Tong Deng and replaced him with Garang Jiel Akuar as town mayar.
The governor also appointed Angela William Ajonga as new state revenue commissioner, replacing Majok Wek Wol, who has been promoted and appointed as new minister of finance.
The governor gave no reasons for the reshuffle which was announced on Monday.
