Aweil governor removes deputy, appoints new official

The governor of South Sudan’s Aweil state Yournew Wol Kuot has issued an order removing his deputy Ubera Mawut Unguec Ajonga and replaced him with a new official.

The governor of South Sudan’s Aweil state Yournew Wol Kuot has issued an order removing his deputy Ubera Mawut Unguec Ajonga and replaced him with a new official.

The order which became public this week, appointed Stephen Chol Ajonga as the new deputy governor. Chol was a lecturer at Bahr el Ghazal University before his appointment in the new position.

He had served as the minister of education in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state before the split of the area into three states in 2015.

The official had welcomed his appointment, pledging his willingness to serve the state and the community.

Chol on Friday was appointed as deputy governor on December 21, 2017 and took oath of office on 28, December 2017.
