The governor of South Sudan’s Aweil State, Major General Jal Malith Jal has cancelled the dissolution of Northern Bahr el Ghazal disabled union and revoked new structures announced by the Ministry of Social Development, last month.
The union’s chairperson, Moses Kiir Yum told Radio Tamazuj Tuesday said that the governor accepted their demands upon realizing they have a governing constitution.
“We have had slight issues, but our governor has resolved it. It was about to bring problems to us. But we made legal steps, until it became normal. Somebody was brought as our leader by an order from Ministry of Social Development,” said Yum.
He said the union members should not be divided into groups and thanked the governor for intervening to find a solution to challenges facing the body.
Last month, a reshuffle order announced by the state minister of social development, Ayak Zachariah Ngor was rejected by members of the disabled union.
The protestors called on the governor to intervene.
