An investigation committee is expected to report to the Northern Bahr al Ghazal State parliament on the alleged failure of the state finance ministry to implement the budget for the fiscal year 2014/2015.

The committee was formed a month ago after the Northern Bahr al Ghazal Legislative Assembly summoned Minister of Finance and Economic Planing Ayii Bol Akol to brief the house on reasons why the budget of the year 2014/2015 was not in place.

The minister told the parliament that there were many challenges preventing the ministry from providing the budgeted funds as planned. He cited the political crisis in the state and difficulties in revenues collection and remittance to the ministry.

Meanwhile, parliament committee chairman for Legal and Human Rights Garang Mawein Mawein told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that the Northern Bahr el Ghazal Legislative Assembly has passed the budget for the year 2014/2015. Some ministers said there is no allocated budget for their ministries.
